City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 1, 2008 <br />Page 7 of 12 <br />Mayor Sisk requested an Ap~-licant presentation. <br />Richard Weeks, 4242 N. 119th Street, Lafayette, CO expressed his excitement <br />with the relocation of the Bridge School to Louisville and their partnership with <br />Gaiam. He explained they are planning student internships with Gaiam. He <br />noted the agreement with the owner is still in negotiations. He stated the <br />applicant accepts all the conditions set forth by the Planning Commission. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Brandon Lin, 683 Manorwoocl Lane, Louisville, CO attends the Bridge School in <br />Boulder and was pleased the school is relocating to Louisville. He explained <br />moving the school to Louisville will benefit the City for the following reasons: 1) it <br />will give many other students the opportunity to experience a great education and <br />small class sizes. 2) Bridge School is very connected to the community. 3) <br />Bridge School faculty, parents and students will dine and shop in Louisville. <br />COUNCIL COMMENT <br />Councilor Muckle received ari email relative to traffic and parking concerns, but <br />he felt the Planning Commission did a very good job of reviewing those issues. <br />Councilor Yarnell stated it is a great opportunity for the City and Bridge School. <br />Mayor Sisk expressed his concern for the students crossing South Boulder Road <br />and suggested encouraging :>tudents arriving eastbound by bus to use the <br />underpass. He suggested working with RTD to move the bus stop to the east and <br />closer to the underpass. He rioted some neighbors are concerned over the trash <br />issues, and asked the school be vigilant about keeping the trash contained. <br />Mark Bailey, a Mesa Point Subdivision resident, asked where the school's <br />outdoor activities would be conducted. His concern centered on the over use of <br />Annette Brand Park. Mr. WeE;ks stated they will lease fields. <br />MOTION: Councilor Clabots imoved to approve Resolution No. 13, Series 2008, <br />seconded by Councilor Sackett. All in favor. <br />Randy Luallin, 301 East Street, Louisville, CO addressed Ordinance No. 1532, <br />Series 2008, which Council reviewed on first reading. He expressed concern <br />over the proposed provisions of the parked trailers, inoperable vehicles and <br />harassment. He was concerned over the language relative to parking an <br />inoperable vehicle on private property. He read from the State Constitution, <br />Section 10 -Freedom of SpE:ech and asked the ordinance's section on <br />harassment be removed as ii: restricts freedom of speech. <br />
