City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 3, 2008 <br />Page 3 of 11 <br />City Manager Malcolm Fleming updated Council on the Sycamore Circle sewer <br />back-up situation. In addition to updating the City policy, the City's insurance <br />carrier was notified and they will be providing assistance to the Sycamore Circle <br />residents. They have asked each homeowner to supply an itemized list of <br />replacement items and the basis for their claim. Reimbursement may vary from <br />$4,000 to $11,000. The name and contact information of the City's insurance <br />agent has been released to the Sycamore Circle residents so they may contact <br />him directly. <br />He noted this incident will have an affect on the City insurance premiums. The <br />Public Works Department will address this issue by targeting problem sewer lines <br />and jetting them on a monthly basis., The City will identify the most effective <br />ways of monitoring the sewer systern and coordinate replacement of sewer lines <br />with street and other infrastructure projects. The 2009 budget process will also <br />examine purchasing the appropriate tools for monitoring the sewer system. <br />Councilor Dalton noted his homeowner's insurance carrier provided a sewer <br />backup addendum option to his policy for approximately $45.00 annually. <br />City Manager Fleming reported on the golf course pond repair project. The <br />contractor returned to work and projects a June 23~d completion date, which is <br />past the contract date. The contractor will be notified that the City will pursue <br />liquidated damages and that the project must be completed as quickly as <br />possible. <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br />APPROVAL OF THE ECO PASS AGREEMENT <br />Mayor Pro Tem Sheri Marsella noted she was advised by the City Attorney, <br />under City ordinances, she has no conflict of interest with this agenda item, but in <br />the interest of full disclosure, she stated her husband is employed by Regional <br />Transportation District (RTD) in the capacity of General Manager. <br />City Manager Fleming explained two of the goals the City adopted for 2007-2008 <br />were to: 1) Promote resource conservation, to minimize resource use, promote <br />energy efficiency, make use of renewable energy and reduce greenhouse gas <br />emissions and 2) Ensure the City of Louisville is an "Employer of Choice" by <br />implementing changes as necessary to address Organization culture and <br />Rewards Package. <br />The City may participate in the Eco Pass program offered through the RTD. The <br />Eco Pass entitles the holder to unlimited rides on local, regional and express bus <br />and light rail services for a full year. The cost for the'/2 year prorated program for <br />
