City Council
Meeting Minutes
June 17, 2008
Kim Daldos, 839 McKinley Avenue, Louisville, CO stated many of the neighbors
are concerned about the proposal to build two houses on one lot. He explained
this does not fit within the existing neighborhood, which is small to medium sized
houses on one lot.
Garrett Mundelein, 555 County Road, Louisville, CO voiced his support for the
proposal and his appreciation for thE; neighbors' position. He noted a similar
situation occurred along County Road, which impacted his home. He stated it is
difficult for neighbors to go beyond tlhe emotion of change in the neighborhood.
John Wenzel, 109 W. Spruce Street, Louisville, CO presented a petition signed
by 57 residents, who support the Planning Commissions' decision to limit the
construction on 245 Spruce to one house.
Tim Seeber, 821 McKinley Avenue, Louisville, CO voiced his opposition to
proposal. He reported speaking to Mr. Ramsey relative to the subdivision of the
property, but was not convinced the property should contain two homes. He
noted the trees are a major part of C>Id Town Louisville and felt smaller
equipment could have been used to eliminate the stress on the trees. He did not
support a larger home on the lot. He felt the proposal to build two houses on
one lot was a money issue.
Phyllis Greene, Greene Realty & Management, Louisville, CO stated she was the
realtor for the property. She voiced her support of the property and presented
information, which illustrated four lots in Louisville that were subdivided to
accommodate two homes. She stated the home at 245 Spruce Street was not of
historic value, nor was it structurally sound enough to permit a second story.
JoBelle Orvis, 355 W. Spruce Street, Louisville, CO supported the proposal and
stated it is only natural for the property owners to want full value for their
property. She stated any development will remove trees for home construction.
Herb Orvis, 355 W. Spruce Street, Louisville, CO stressed Mr. Ramsey would
build two quality homes.
Doreen Romero stated she is the former owner of the home at 245 Spruce
Street, but now resides in Lafayette, CO. She voiced her support for the
proposal. She noted the petition presented to Council misrepresented the
wishes of some of the residents. She stated there have been rumors the
proposal is ruining Old Town Louisviille, but noted two smaller homes were more
in the character of Old Town.
