City Council
Meeting Minutes
June 17, 2008
Councilor Muckle suggested giving the applicant more time to decide whether he
would be willing to consider a smallE;r footprint.
Councilor Sackett requested a financial analysis on the benefit to the City. Mr.
Ramsey stated he was not required to present a financial analysis. It was
confirmed by staff that minor subdivision replats do not require a financial
analysis.
In closing, Mr. Ramsey responded to comments and summarized his proposal.
He met with the City Forester relative to the trees and the tree which was
removed, was questionable. He stated the house across the street has been
under construction for a lengthy period and the neighbors are tired of the
construction process. He noted his style is to construct homes in a timely
fashion. He addressed the Planning Commission decision on both votes, and
stated he could not go forward with i:he project, if the proposal was returned to
the Planning Commission. He did not agree with the comments that he alienated
the neighborhood. He felt his proposal suits Old Town Louisville. He was
reluctant to reduce the footprint of thie homes, but would consider a 10%
reduction in the lot coverage.
Planning Director Wood explained a 10% reduction of the homes footprint would
allow two homes of 1,900 - 2,000 square foot, which would be close to a
conforming lot.
MOTION: Councilor Muckle moved to continue the hearing for two weeks to
consider a reduction in square footage. The motion was not seconded.
Mr. Ramsey agreed to a 10% reduction in the footprint of the homes, which
would allow each home to be appro;~imately 1,975 square feet.
MOTION: Mayor Pro Tem Marsella moved to approve Resolution No. 27, Series
2008, with a 10% reduction in lot coverage, second by Councilor Yarnell. Roll
call vote was taken. The motion carried by a vote of 5-1. Councilor Sackett voted
no. Absent: Councilor Dalton.
ORDINANCE No. 1537, SERIES 2008 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
CERTAIN SECTIONS OF TITLE: 10 AND TITLE 17 OF THE LOUISVILLE
MUNICIPAL CODE TO REVISE THE CITY'S REGULATIONS CONCERNING
THE PARKING, STORAGE AND USE OF MOTOR VEHICLES,
RECREATIONAL VEHICLES, TR'.AILERS, DUMPSTERS, ROLL-OFFS AND
PORTABLE STORAGE UNITS. - 2"d Reading -Public Hearing
Mayor Sisk requested a City Attorney introduction.
