City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />August 5, 2008 <br />Page 11 of 14 <br />APPLICANT PRESENTATION <br />Michelle Beech and Elizabeth Baker, Co-Directors of the school agreed with all <br />the conditions established by the Planning Commission and the Louisville Fire <br />Protection District. Ms. Beech thanked Mr. Wood for assisting them through the <br />application process. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Nicki Heatherwood, 915 Spruce Street, Boulder, CO supported the application <br />and stated her children will attend The Patchwork School. <br />Courtney Wilcox, 9720 Teller Lane, 'Westminster, CO also supported the <br />application and commented the school is unique and will fit the neighborhood. <br />Jennifer Wright, 10645 N. Yates Drive, Westminster, CO supported the school <br />and stated her three children will attend The Patchwork School. <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Councilor Dalton noted the opposite side of the street prohibits pick-up or drop- <br />off parking. He suggested developing some defining signs for The Patchwork <br />School. He felt the school would be welcome addition to Louisville. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Marsella asked the hours of operation for the Louisville Middle <br />School. Planning Director Wood stated the hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. <br />Councilor Muckle asked about parking for parents who wish to enter the <br />Patchwork School to confer with the teachers. Ms. Beech stated they have <br />included information in the family handbook instructing them where to park. <br />Councilor Yarnell welcomed the Patchwork School to Louisville. <br />Mayor Sisk addressed an email received from Attorney John Gstalder, who <br />raised concerns over the parking issues. He asked if the applicant has contacted <br />the surrounding businesses. Ms. Beech reported contacting the law firm and <br />hoped to attend their office tenants meeting to discuss the parking issues. <br />MOTION: Councilor Sackett moved to approve Resolution No. 34, Series 2008, <br />seconded by Councilor Muckle. All in favor. Absent: Councilor Clabots. <br />RESOLUTION No. 35, SERIES 2008 - A RESOLUTION REFERRING TO A <br />VOTE OF THE REGISTERED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE AT <br />THE NOVEMBER 4, 2008, SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION A TABOR <br />BALLOT ISSUE TO AUTHORIZE THE IMPOSITION OF AONE-EIGHTH OF <br />
