Council- man Leary opposed. Motion carried 6-l. MY'. Ochsner thanked council and stated they would have the map available at the nE~xt meeting. Councilman Luce requested this be made available proior to the next meeting, he would find it helpful to '.have it in'.,~.hand and walk on the site . Maiyor Meier requested that a detailed-memo from staff accompany the topo map, relating to some of the foreeable problems that have been discussed and the issue of tree compelling benefits. He also asked tY:~e developers if the property was pinned, and they stated that it was. HJM ANNEXATION REQUEST Councilmembers had a copy of a letter and ma.p depicting the property being requested for annexation. Howard Fischer, 115 South 35th Mr•. Fischer stated the property was located St., Boulder Colorado in Boulder County south of Cherry Street ad'.jacent to Westfield Subdivision and consisted of approximately 3 acres. Their request was for annexation and rezoning of the site to Commercial Neighborhood. Thee development proposal includes a 3000 sq;. ft. building designed to compliment the surrounding residential developments and provide the needed services of food and gasoline. Administrator Wurl Commented that the concern from the staff level would be the amount of commercial and office zoning that the City already ha.s in the area - there is a tremendous amount available. The other concern is that it is an isolated piece and directly across from residential area - a small por- tion of it from single family. Considering these items, it was his recommendation that Council deny the request. `Mayor Meier Stated there have been concerns expressed by this council and those in the past of the over abundance of commercial zoning.
