6/18/84 Page -19-
struction. Mr. Kuykendall stated that he
built his home in 1977. At that time he
inquired of Louisville about the availability
o:f water and was advised that water was
available to him but that there was no
main out in that area to service him.
Unless he was willing to put in a main all
the way from Mesa Point, he would not be
able to have water. So he finished his
home with a well and cistern at that time.
Hc~ stated that he was the only property
owner in that area that does not have water.
He also stated that he wished he would have
had the foresight back in 1977-1978 when
the opportunity was still available to him
a:> he realized the price of water taps
at: this time is a great deal more than it
was then.
Administrator Wurl Commented that he didn't. outline for Mr.
Kuykendall the action that council took
or.~ Mr. Pliska's property because it was
different in the respect that it was an
existing dwelling, and he was not certain
this would apply to the same criteria as
that of the Pliska property and that was
annexation. He also stated that the City
has in the past tied on houses to our
water system outside the City on the basis
that Mr. Kuykendall is requesting.
Councilman Luce Inquired if the request was for water--only or
water and sewer services? The reply was
water only. In reply to his question of
where Mr. Kuykendall's property was relative
to where the Mesa drops off, Administrator
Wurl stated it was immediately north of
the Van Ark property at the top of the hill.
Mr. Kuykendall stated to answer his question
about the boundary of his property, he has
one child in Douglass school and 2 in
Louisville. The house itself is built
right at the top of the hill. Hi.~ well--
is buried into his property; pumped up
to the top of the hill and then into the cis-
tern, so he would suggest that he tie into
City water on top of the hill which would
be an extension of. those lots on Continental
View Drive. In answer to Councilman Luce's
question - stated his house might be a foot
be:Low the top of the hill.
