However, he would <br /> like to be able to have authorization to <br /> proceed as it helps negotiations sometimes. <br />VOTE ON THE MOTION All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br />SOUTH BOULDER ROAD - PINE ST. Councilmembers had a copy of a memorandum <br />PEDESTRIAN CROSSING SIGNALS from PUblic Works Director Kasch recommend- <br />AUTHORIZE CALL FOR BIDS ing sites for the crossing signals and cost <br /> estimates. <br /> Administrator Wurl stated this would address <br /> the questions of Mrs. Sohn who spoke earlier <br /> this evening. In terms of the discussions <br /> with the County one the improvements that <br /> the County would participate in in the <br /> immediate area - namely the widening of <br /> South Boulder Road, sidewalk, etc. won't <br /> happen until 1985 and he was not certain <br /> that they would substantially impact to <br /> resolve the problem. What has been con- <br /> cluded that would be most helpful would be <br /> a :pedestrian crossing signal east of Wash- <br /> ington St. crossing South Boulder Road. <br /> Staff was asking for authorization to call <br /> fo:r bids not only on this crossing but on <br /> th~~ Pine St. crossing as well. Then develop <br /> the plans and call for bids, then come back <br /> to Council for an award so that it can be <br /> dome in time for the opening of school in <br /> the Fall. <br /> Administrator Wurl stated the signals would <br /> be red, yellow, and green and would be acti- <br /> vated by the pedestrians.
