6./5/84 Page -23-
Councilman Leary Commented he understood Councilman Luce's
concern; but he disagreed that there is
not a prospect that anything happens after
that. He would think there was a very good
chance that the leases would be extended.
The fact that they are not interested
iri selling the property at this time, he
fE~lt is an indication that there is not
anything expected to happen in the near
future, and no plans whatsoever to build
on them. They aren't getting any money
There are getting a lot that is going to
provide parking partially to their businesses
ar.~d that is a gain. He felt the possibility
that they are going to be used for more than
5 years is very high.
Planner Lanternman stated that when the
Special Improvement District is formed those
providing parking for their businesses will
be credited for those and this could be
another way to help increase the length of
the lease.
Councilman Luce asked if the $45,000 that
we would spend on the paving had been figured
in the calculations that Council was pre-
sented with this evening in terms of the
City's obligations?
Administrator Wurl advised that they were.
Councilman Luce asked Mr. Wurl if it was to
his professional opinion that this is the
best deal we could cut for the City on this?
Administrator Wurl stated that it was.
PARKING LOT LEASES AUTHORIZED Councilman Leary moved, Councilwoman John-
son seconded that the Mayor and Clerk be
authorized to sign the parking lot leases.
5 .Ayes - 1 Nay. Councilman Luce opposed.
Motion carried 5-1.
COUNCIL COMMENTS & COMMITTEE
REPORTS
Councilwoman Morris Commented a number of months ago we talked
about the possibility of placing bulletin
boards in the parks. Inquired what the
st<~tus of this was.
Director Hioco advised that after contacting
several companies he was informed they are
noit making the bulletin boards anymore.
He contacted Jicinsky Construction Co. and
Dennis Construction Co in the City and they
stated they would submit an estimate.
