5/l~'84 Page -7-
But the Trousil property had not been so
designated. (He then distributed a small
map to councilmembers). Mr. Silverstein
staged the map had been prepared by Boulder
County Parks and Recreation Dept. showing
thi:~. He stated they feel that the safety
of t:he fire fighters is a paramount concern
and they were asking for the opportunity to
install a sprinkling system in the building.
Administrator Wurl stated that it wasn't
exactly clear what size tap they were asking
for., Mr. Silverstein had just stated that
they wanted to sprinkle the building. It
was Mr. Wurl's understanding that we
werE: dealing with the fire line only.
DirE,ctor Kasch stated that a 3/4" tap would
be :sufficient for the building. The fire
linE, tap would be a 4" tap.
Other Means of Fire DirE.ctor Rupp stated that in speaking with
Protection the Building Inspector ~e Fire-_Marsiia~r =stated
there were other m~aris cif providing fire protection +.han
just the fire line.
Cou ncilman Leary Stai~,ed that the open space issue was Louisville's
Annexation plan - not Boulder County's. He then asked
if Mr. Trousil had requested annexation to
the City at any time?
Mr. Silverstein stated that Mr. Trousil has
never asked that the property be annexed to
the City. There was a proposal that came
from Attorney Rautenstraus that suggested
annexation, but that came from the City not
from Mr. Trousil,
Councilman Leary commented he would like to
hear from the Fire Marshall as to what al-
ternatives do exist.
He further commented that the last time this
was brought before Council, who presented the
deal that just the fire line be provided and
not the 3/4" water tap?
Mayor Meier felt that the initial request was
for the fire tap and a domentic tap. Then
it changed to just a fire tap.
The Fire Marshall was not in attendance to
give the alternatives requested by Council-
man Leary.
