4/1~~/84
Page -6-
Councilman Luce stated that our participation
should be from the perspective of continuing
to i:ry to see that the criteria that we
are concerned about be addressed in the study.
Also felt that we should advise Boulder County
that= unless those criteria are met we would
not be highly supportive of financing the
study to serve outside interests.
Committee Administrator Wurl stated that a suggested
formation of a committee was 3 from
Boulder County, a County person, a City
elected person, and someone from the business
community. Then that Boulder County have
their own committee. There was a concern
of how the feelings of Lafayette, Louisville,
Broomfield and Boulder get to that committee,
so they suggested a sub-committee in each
County be established and from that source
get to the main committee. On the sub com-
mittee would be 3 representatives from each
City whomever the Council chose. He was
not. certain what the structure was of
the. committee for Adams and Jefferson County;
but. felt that it was a group of interested
private developer types who have convinced
the County Commissioners and who are supporting
that group.
Councilwoman Morris stated she would like to
Representation see a representative from Louisville on the
main committee, rather than just the sub-
con:imittee to get a broader base and input.
Hari a concern of having a total of 3 repre-
sni~atives from Boulder County whether they
would represent this Council. Felt it was
exi~rememly important for each municipality
to be on the main committee even if it meant
10 members.
DRCOG & Hiway Commission Administrator Wurl commented that we suggested
Hi-
at the meeting that DROG and the State
wa;y Department be involved in the study.
Councilwoman Johnson Suggested that we have a formal discussion on
d feedback from
W-470 and get some input an
local residents and the business community.
Councilmembers felt this was premature and
should be done after the Consortium meeting.
Mayor Meier directed councilmembers to express
to Councilwoman Morris their comments on all
the questions she presented so that she may
present them to the Consortium meeting on
May 2nd. Also Council agreed that the repre-
sE~ntative for Louisville should be selected
