Growth is inevitable. As we
all know it ~~an be put off; but it is
going to happen. Ten years ago people didn't
want more houses built here. He wished to
state that this Council had placed them-
selves on a pedestal by being anti-growth.
Right now they are high on that pedestal.
Mr'. Rowan stated he wished to give a warn-
ing to all of them that you can be knocked
off a pedestal and if this does happen you
not only hurt the City, it won't hurt Homart;
bu.t it is going to hurt everyone involved
in, this entire community.
Don McKee, 1045 LaFarge Ave. Mr'. Well the promises turned out to be
malarky and he said that 5 years ago and
some other folks said that 5 years ago.
TYie fact was, without those promises, the
land would not have been annexed. But with
the promises it is and now the promises are
mE~aningless. Homart stands now to take a
bath financially, but. after all Homart is
a subsidiary of the largest retailer in
tYie country; and they are now coming to
Louisville to bail them out.
