10/16/84 Page -14-
Planning Commission meeting had been provided
to councilmembers. It was the general feeling
of the Planning Commission members that it
would be best to keep the limitation on the
A-O Zone and as people came in to apply on the
Bussiness Office Zone, if it was a larger par-
cel those people would have to also specifi-
cally show through a P.U.D. process whether
there would be any commercial activity involved;
and at that time it could be looked at to see
if commercial activity would be appropriate
in that area.
Mr. Rautenstraus stated with respect to the RRR
Zone a clarification was made which was sug-
gested at the Planning Commission. This was
in this zone the lot sizes maybe from 20,000 s.f.
up to 5 acres; however there can be no more than
one unit per acre. In a situation where a
parcel maybe larger than 5 acres, there could
be no more than 2 units in a parcel between 5
and 10 acres. He also stated that a change
was made with respect to the height limitation
on page 6 of the zone - this was changed from
50' to 40'.
Mayor Meier continued the public hearing and
asked if there were any public comments either
in favor or against Ordinance No. 838. None
Any public questions. None.
Council questions and comments.
Councilman Leary Referred to Section 2 L. Business Office -
"This district :is intended for a broader
range of uses than the Administrative Office
zone, including limited commercial activities",
and inquired if someone comes in requests the
B-0 zone how can we deny them the commercial
use?
Mr. Rautenstraus felt that what Council would
have to look for as far as what uses are ap-
propriate fit under the "Use" groups and most
of the commercial activities listed there are
Special Review Uses; and if someone did come
in under the B-O Zone we would at that time
want to emphasize the fact that they are Special
Review Uses for commercial activities and of
course you can always have an agreement that
limits some of the types of uses that are allowed.
He did feel that some type of limited commercial
would be appropriate in this zone.
Mr. Leary suggested the wording with possible
limited commercial activityrather than "includ-
ing limited, etc."
