Councilman Leary Commented that Council should authorize this recommendation with the results of talking to the residents whether it will be one or two blocks. RESTRICTED PARKING POLICY Councilmembers had a copy of a memo from DOWNTOWN Planner Kasza clarifying the current park- ing restrictions on Main St. along with a map. Included in the memo was recom- mendations for future restrictions and the long term parking plan. Councilwoman Morris Commented that the Pine St. parking lot seems to have available spaces most of the time. Suggested that perhaps that this one be monitored to see if parking restric- tions are necessary. Councilman Luce stated that he did not con- cur with Ms. Morris and would support the recommendations made by Ms. Kasza. Councilman Leary concurred with Councilman Luce. In reply to their inquiry, Mr. Rupp stated that the 2 hour parking restriction was for the hours 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Loading Zone Parking In reply to Councilman Fauson's inquiry re- garding loading zones, Ms. Kasza stated with the expansion of the Blue Parrot they will be taking away the loading zone on Pine St. and will have their access off the alley. GEORGE MATTERN LAND TRADE Councilmembers had a copy of a memo from the Public Works Department relative to this land trade which was being requested to accommodate construction of drainage facilities as well as park planning in the Middle School Park area. A map was also provided Councilmembers of the land to be transferred. AUTHORIZATION GRANTED Mayor Meier moved, Councilman Cussen seconded that the Public Works staff be authorized to begin land transfer negotiations with Mr. George Mattern in the Middle School Park area. A11 in favor. Motion carried unanimously.
