9/18/84 Page -23 - facility. Some o~ the objections to the initial proposal was that the monopole proposed was a solid mass and at the top of it was a 10' triangular platform. In the new proposal the 10' tower will not be present on the facility. In place of the solid monopole there will be an open lattice work tower so that you can see through it to some degree. Mr. Pond stated the pur- pose of requesting this presentation be- fore Council was to describe these efforts that have been undertaken and to tell you that NewVector is doing what they can to both meet their obligations to DRCOG, the State, FCC and meet the objections expressed. He encouraged Council to have communications before the hearings that are now planned before the Boulder County Planning Dept. and again before the Boulder County Com- missioners. He urged Council to contact the Boulder County Sheriff's Dept. so they could get an independent opinion from them as to whether or not they view this as beneficial to the County at large. yor Meier Commented that he was pleased with the lat- tice type tower, but had concern about the site location because of the proximity of the Louisville Reservoir. Plans are to expand this facility and he suggested that NewVector work with our consultants as to alternatives for the site location. Mr. Pond stated that it was his understanding -that the reservoir would be expanded in a different direction and wouldn't be effected by the tower location. Councilman Luce Commented in addition to the plant. expansion concern a portion of the property is in- tended to be use for recreational use and he would not want to see this enfringed upon. Mr. Luce also requested a map from NewVector with the sites that were identified with a summary analysis as to why all the other sites that were examined were rejected. Mr. Pond stated that map is now at the Boulder County Planning Dept. and he thought it would be best to speak with NewVector engineers. The process involves a lot of technical coordinance. H~~would make available to Mr. Luce anyone that he wished to speak with to answer any questions.
