9/18/84 Page -24-
~UNCIL COMMENTS & COMMITTEE
12EPORTS
Councilman Luce Mr. Luce directed his inquiry to Acting
Bulk Water Permits City Administrator Rupp and asked if
bulk water pemits are used to supply water
to residents within the City as requested
by Alpine Water Service.
Mr. Rupp stated this was so and also con-
struction activities that obtain water
from the fire hydrants. He had provided
the memo to Council for clarification and
after permission was granted to Mr. Fitz-
gerald he felt that the policy the staff
is following is correct.
Landscaping at Neodata and Councilman Luce commented that a lot of
LDS Church - Public Service money had been put into the landscaping
Right-of-Way at Neodata and the LDS Church on South
Boulder Road. Unfortunately there is a
Public Service right-of-way in between
and he asked if Director Hioco planned to
address that problem.
Mr. Hioco stated that he had contacted the
Public Service people and did not receive
a response on this problem. Therefore,
the City will cut the weeds and then bill
them. Mr. Hioco also stated that the City
has an agreement with Public Service on
landscaping easements and putting trail
systems through and we maintain the area.
He felt that this should be well underway
next spring or summer.
Mr. Luce requested that once a plan is
initiated and an agreement is made to
please send this information on to Council.
Appreciation to Director of Councilman Luce requested that Acting City
Financial Services Asti- Administrator Rupp convey to Director Asti-
Caranci Caranci that Council placed a lot of demands
on her and her department relative to
developing numbers related to the water
treatment plant and some of those requests
have been in very tight time lines. He
thought that the information that has come
back has been excellent and would like to
convey his appreciation for the extraordinary
effort that was put forth - on behalf of her
and the staff that has worked on that.
Mr. Rupp stated that he appreciated that.
He knew that she has been working very hard,
even on the weekends, and he was certain
that would be a welcome comment that she
would like to hear from the Council.
