9/18/84 Page -25-
.ouncilwoman Morris Wished to express her appreciation to
Director Asti-Caranci also.
Second Realignment of Mc Councilwoman Morris stated that she and
Caslin Blvd. Mr. Rupp had met with a number of homeowners
regarding the second realignment of Mc
Caslin Blvd. The discussion concerned the
impacts being placed on them and how the
City can ease some of those impacts regard-
ing this new realignment that Council never
really voted on. Right now they are in the
process of realigning some of the road; the
other half to be constructed at a later date.
If the realignment continues as it is right
now it would basically back up on the home-
owners property. The homeowners involved
are requesting that negotiations continue
to see if in fact those two lanes can
happen on the other side of the two exist-
ing lanes. Ms. Morris asked for Council's
support to have Attorney Rautenstraus con-
tinue negotiations with the people involved
in contruction for a reasonable alternative.
If there is not a reasonable alternative
then provide us with reasons why it is not.
Continue Negotiations on the Councilwoman Morris moved, Mayor Meier
Realignment of McCaslin Blvd, seconded that Attorney Rautenstraus con-
tinue negotiations with the property owners
so as to once again realign the realignment
of McCaslin Blvd. All in favor. Motion
carried unanimously.
Sidewalk on the South Side Mrs. Morris stated that apparently Karl
of Hutchinson Kasch and someone from the County met with
a number of parents and teachers at the
Elementary School relative to constructing
a sidewalk on the south side of Hutchinson
St. Apparently there is a safety factor
involved. She had requested facts and
figures of staff to see if there was any
way to do something in the way of a path or
sidewalk.
Mr. Rupp stated that the City is going to
do it. He had spoken with Mr. Rickman of
the Street Dept. and he is going to get it
done. He is going to find the money some-
where. It may not be a fully improved
concrete curb/gutter type, but a sidewalk
will be constructed for them. Mr. Rupp
asked Mr. Rickman to contact the School
Principal and tell her that the City
was going to take care of it,
