9/18/84
Page -9-
is trying to solve this should be com-
pensated in some way, or Council should
at least consider this. That might soften
the blow.
Status of Report of Insur- Attorney Rautenstraus advised that originally
ance Co. he had sent the information to the insurance
company on this problem and Mrs. Pierce of
the Finance Dept. checked with the in-
surance last week and they stated their
adjuster was dealing with Mr. Grant. Attor-
ney Rautenstraus had not heard that there
was a big problem. He certainly did not
have any problem with contacting the in-
surance company and suggesting that they
must this up on their list to check on.
Mayor and Council requested that he do
this.
As a possible solution, Mr. Huson stated
the plan is to have an outfall system that
originates at the Louisville North area
diagonally to the northeast, then along
Colorado Hiway 42 and turn into Baseline.
He stated that if the funding is available
and the weather holds out, this could be
accomplished by next summer.
Councilman Leary Verified with Director of Financial Services
Asti-Caranci that if the sales tax issue
were passed, a percentage of this along with
the bonding issue would provide funds for
construction of the storm drainage. He
also commented that in the 1970's this
should have been the responsibility of the
developer; then asked what are we doing to
insure that this .will not recur with the
property being developed to the north?
Mr. Huson stated that in 1982 Council ap-
proved a master drainage plan that identified
all major storm drainage outfalls within
the City of Louisville and unincorporated
surrounding Boulder County. Presently if
anyone develops in the City of Louisville
they must complete those improvements to
a specific point that damage will not occur
or participate in a drainage basin that has
been set-up. This fee is collected along
with building permits and allocated to the
storm drainage fund.
