9/4/84
Page -12-
ability of funds. All in favor. Motion
carried unanimously.
LOUISVILLE WINTER WATER REQUEST Councilmembers had a copy of Mr. Schuler's
DENVER WATER DEPARTMENT - letter relating to this item, a copy of
AUTHORIZE TO PROCEED a draft letter to Mr. Fisher and a recom-
mendation from Mr. Rupp for authorization
to proceed. The request was for the months
December through April for 300 acre feet
of. raw water and the pay back was. similiar
to those of last season.
Authorization Granted Mayor Meier moved, Councilwoman Morris
seconded that staff be allowed to proceed
on the winter water request to the Denver
Water Department. All in favor. Motion
carried unanimously.
BUILDING PERMIT MORATORIUM Mayor. Meier stated that he had been asked
by several people what the status of the
building moratorium was; also the Building
Department had people coming in on a daily
basis with single family applications in
the "Other" category as well as the developers.
After having read the numerous reports on
the treatment capacity of the water plant
since the improvements have been made, he
felt that Council should consider removing
the building permit moratorium as far as
this year's permits are concerned.
He asked Mr. Schuler to give his opinion
on how this would effect the present plant
if these permits were issued.
Mr. Schuler stated that they had tested
the water treatment plant to produce 5.8 MGD
All the automatic chemical equipment is
working fine; the plant is completely
automated except for the high zone pumps.
They are waiting for a meter on that. They
feel comfortable that the plant will pro-
duce 6 MGD; therefore he felt comfortable
with the addition of 820 residential taps,
as the storage tank could be used as a
buffer. Since watering restrictions have
been lifted the amount of water being used
is 2.9 MGD. As a comparison he had called
Denver, Longmont, and Aurora and got their
usage for the last 4 days and compared this
to Louisville's peak days of 4.8 MGD
