Mr. Ross replied as an explanation <br />because the plans for the major thorough- <br />fares were changing so rapidly as well as <br />the character of the areal also, they did <br />not know how fast development would take <br />place, the presentation was made this evening. <br />In reply to Mr. Luce's question, Mr. Reich <br />stated that the frequency of the helicopter <br />service would be approximately 12 times per <br />month; however he felt that due to the faster <br />response time with the new site this could. <br />increase to 20-25. <br />Mr. Ross stated they had reviewed another site <br />just west of this one as an alternative; but <br />hadn't spoken with the Homart representatives <br />about it at the present time. <br />Mayor Meier Commented that he felt that the LFPD did not <br />come to Council during February because they <br />were not certain the City would have an agree- <br />ment with Homart at all. <br />Councilman Luce stated that there were no <br />changes made to street system at all relative <br />to Via Appia. Once the dross acreage was <br />decided for the recreation center it was <br />stable for several months, and Council did <br />give up some other things to increase the <br />acreage for the recreation site. <br />Pursue Alternative Site Discussion by Mayor and Councilmembers and <br />all agreed they favored St. Anthony s location <br />of a helipad within the City. However, all <br />members of Council, with the exception of <br />Councilman Fauson, requested Fire Chief Dan <br />Ross to pursue the alternative site west of <br />Via. Appia with the Homart representatives. <br />They did not favor relinquishing any portion <br />of the recreation site area as first requested. <br />Bruce Joss, Attorney for Mr. Joss stated one thing that he would point <br />the Louisville Fire Protection out. to the members of Council and that was <br />District why they had this request. The original Homart <br />agreement set forth that the City was to <br />receive a parcel of property for fire pro- <br />tection purposes. Since the City has a <br />Fire Protection District they were requesting <br />
