Louisville City Council Meeting <br />June 1, 2004 <br />Page 11 of 12 <br /> <br />speed limit along Via Appia. She suggested a traffic signal light at Tyler, and a turnabout <br />at W. Pine Street. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENT <br /> <br />Council member Keany asked whether the flow of traffic at Pine Street is going up or <br />down hill. There was citizen response thatthe traffic flow is in both directions. Council <br />member Keany asked how traffic lights attracted traffic. Tom Mayer stated a light would <br />ensure the traffic could continue through. <br /> <br />Council member Van Pelt asked Public Works Director Tom Phare to address the 2002 <br />Traffic Study. Public Works Director Phare stated the conclusion of the study was that a <br />light was not warranted at Pine or Tyler Streets. <br /> <br />Council member Van Pelt asked Mr. Woolford if discussions from the meetings were <br />documented. Woolford stated the discussions were not completely documented. <br /> <br />Council member Brown concurred with the many of the public comments. He voiced his <br />opinion that the underpass is needed at Via Appia. <br /> <br />Council member Marsella asked if there were discussions relative to putting stop signs in <br />residential neighborhoods. Mr. Woolford stated stop signs are not generally utilized as <br />traffic slowing devices. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk stated he was not prepared to make a decision on the Via Appia Traffic <br />Operations Plan. He suggested the consultant be given more time to perform a thorough <br />traffic study. Council member Brown concurred with Mayor Sisk's comments. <br />There was Council consensus. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION/DIRECTION - REQUEST TO AMEND THE FABER <br /> ANNEXATION AGREEMENT <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk reported the City received a memo from Judith C. McNerny with Carpenter <br />& Klatskin, P.C. requesting a continuance of the request to the next available meeting. <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved that the Faber Annexation Agreement be continued to <br />July 6, 2004, seconded by Council member Brown. All in favor. <br /> <br />AWARD FOR THE PURCHASE OF NEW AND REPLACEMENT COMPUTERS <br /> TO GATEWAY, INC. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Finance Director Patty Leslie reviewed the results of the City's 2004 computer purchase <br />bid. A total of 10 bids were received and the top three lowest bidders were graded on a <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br /> <br />
