Louisville City Council Meeting <br />September 7, 2004 <br />Page 8 of 12 <br /> <br />Ed Helmstead, 1000 Rex Street, Louisville, CO, described the neighborhood and the <br />kindness exhibited by the Sawyer family. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENT <br /> <br />Council member Van Pelt asked Land Management Director Cindy Lair if she knew the <br />distance from the Main Street entrance of the park to the Front Street entrance. Lair <br />responded she did not know; however Mrs. Erhmann responded the distance is 270 feet. <br /> <br />Council member Van Pelt asked for Land Management Director Lair's opinion as to the <br />importance of the Front Street access to the Community Park project. Lair stated the <br />entrance is not mandatory but helps in blending access from the downtown area to the <br />park. <br /> <br />Council member Brown asked if the right-of-way were vacated, who would receive the <br />property. City Attorney Light stated the state statutes provide that one-half of the right- <br />of-way would go to each property owner. <br /> <br />Mrs. Ehrmann provided a history of property improvements and taxes paid. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk suggested Council continue Ordinance No. 1453, Series 2004, to allow for <br />further discussion relative to a compromise. There was Council consensus. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk asked if the applicant would object to a continuance. Ms. Levy stated the <br />applicant had no objections to a continuance. <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved that Council continue the public hearing to October 5, <br />2004, and instruct staff to meet with the Sawyers, their legal representative, Council <br />members Van Pelt and Levihn to discuss a compromise. <br /> <br />VOTE: 6-1. Council member Brown voted no. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1454, SERIES 2004 - AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING A <br />CHANGE OF THE NAME OF THE LOUISVILLE URBAN RENEWAL <br />AUTHORITY - 2nd reading - public hearing (advertised Daily Camera 8/21/04) <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a City Attomey introduction. <br /> <br />City Attorney Sam Light read Ordinance No. 1454, Series 2004. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk opened the public hearing and requested a Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager for Governmental Relations Heather Balser explained the <br />Louisville Urban Renewal Authority is a separate legal entity created by the City in 1971. <br />In December 2003 Council adopted Ordinance 1433, Series 2003, which reaffirmed the <br /> <br /> <br />
