Louisville Local Licensing Authority <br />Meeting Date: February 25, 2002 <br />Page 3 of-6 <br /> <br />Suspension dates for Celtic Way, d/b/a Druids Arms. <br /> <br />Druids Arms submitted three dates for closure resulting from a Show Cause <br />Hearing on January 28, 2002. <br /> <br />Chairperson Lipton asked the members if anyone objected to closing from April <br />12 -April 16, 2002, Druids Arms' preferred dates of closure. Member Kimmett <br />stated that he preferred earlier dates, March 8 - March 12, 2002, for the reason <br />that no dates for suspension had been set in four to five weeks and he did not <br />want the suspension dates to go into April. <br /> <br />Ms. Avril Charnley, owner of Druids Arms, stated that they have distributors to <br />pay and will go bankrupt if not given three weeks notice to get funds to pay their <br />bills. Member Sackett then stated that the fact that Druids Arms will be closed <br />over a weekend is punishment in itself. <br /> <br />Attorney Sam Light asked Ms. Charnley if Druids Arms would be closing. She <br />stated that if they had to close for five days this week, Druids Arms Would go out <br />of business. Ms. Charnley stated tflat she has no intention of closing the <br />business or transferring the license before the dates of suspension are served. <br /> <br />Member Sackett made a motion to accept the dates of closure as April 12 - April <br />16, 2002. Member Paige seconded the motion. Roll Call Vote: Lipton-yes, <br />Koertje-yes, Kimmett-no, Sackett-yes, Paige-yes. Motion carried four to one. <br /> <br />Attorney Light suggested a motion to approve the findings, conclusion and order <br />with respect to the hearing of Celtic Way, d/b/a Druid Arms with the dates of <br />suspension being April 12-16. Member Koertje made a motion to approve the <br />findings, conclusion and order. Chairperson Lipton seconded the motion. Roll <br />Call Vote: Lipton-yes, Koertje-yes, Kimmett-yes, Sackett-yes, Paige-yes. <br /> <br />Stipulation and Agreement - Center Restaurants, Inc., d/b/a Bart's Restaurant - <br />Hotel & Restaurant Liquor License - 585 S. Boulder Road. <br /> <br />Present for the Stipulation and Agreement were Steve Barnett, Attorney for the <br />City, and Robert Mannion, Owner of Bart's Restaurant. <br /> <br />Mr. Barnett stated that the proposed stipulation is based primarily on police <br />reports, as well as signed statements from two of the individuals who were <br />present at the time of the incident. Based on Mr. Barnett's findings and <br />discussions with Mr. Mannion, he presented the proposed stipulation.
