He also asked if they were smaller than regular parking <br />spaces. <br />Ritchie stated that they were proposing two such parking spaces and that they were the <br />same size. <br />Break at 9:06. Reconvened at 9:13 p.m. <br />Brauneis stated that they would be moving the fourth agenda item on a marijuana <br />ordinance to the next meeting of the Planning Commission due to the lateness of the <br />hour. <br />Ritchie read staff's proposed language regarding the note amendment for on -street <br />parking: "Prior to City Council, the applicant shall amend the note related to on -street <br />parking to restrict that any users of the building shall not park on street." <br />Brauneis asked if there were concerns with that language. <br />Hsu asked about the parking waiver request. <br />Ritchie replied that staff did not have additional comments for that, but the Commission <br />could address the waiver. <br />Brauneis closed the public comment period and asked for commissioner comments. <br />Howe stated that he commended the efforts of Oz Architecture for trying something new <br />in the CTC and he appreciated the sustainability efforts. He was in favor of the proposal. <br />Ritchie asked the commissioners to approve the materials on the board or the <br />alternative materials. <br />Howe stated that the materials seemed reasonable and well -tested for the situation. <br />Hoefner stated he was happy with both sets of materials and supported staff's <br />assessment that the metal did not require a waiver. He was comfortable with the <br />parking arrangement, as well. He asked the Association to speak up if parking became <br />an issue. He finished by saying that the applicant presentation had helped him to <br />understand and envision the project. <br />Moline agreed with Commissioners Hoefner and Howe. <br />Rice agreed and added that the bent against having steel buildings was rooted in <br />feelings about industrial buildings and there has been a revolution in materials. The <br />materials presented were beautiful and were compliant with the Design Guidelines. He <br />echoed prior comments and added that the building was an investment in the <br />community. <br />16 <br />
