City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 18, 2008 <br />Page 3 of 9 <br />Monday, December 2, 2008. He addressed Mr. Sobel's concern over the <br />Comcast issue and asked Staff to respond to Mr. Sobel at the next regular <br />meeting. He addressed Mr. Landis's concern and noted that the City web site <br />includes updated information on the single trash hauler proposal. <br />City Manager Fleming confirmed the City's web site is updated with information <br />on the single trash hauler proposal. Regarding raising chickens, Mr. Fleming <br />spoke to another resident and requested she poll her neighbors to see if they <br />would object. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />City Manager Fleming thanked the residents for the passage of the Historic <br />Preservation Sales Tax. He explained that the ordinance to levy the new tax is <br />included in the Council packet. He noted it is an emergency ordinance, so the tax <br />can take effect on January 1. <br />He met with ConocoPhillips representatives and they reported on the schedule <br />for the demolition of the existing buildings and the interview process to select a <br />design team for the construction of the new facilities. <br />He met with the City and County of Broomfield and ConocoPhillips relative to a <br />fire station on 96th Street. An Intergovernmental Agreement will be presented at <br />a future meeting for Council discussion and/or action. <br />The Library Director recruitment process is ongoing. Five candidates with <br />excellent credentials were interviewed and currently a background check is being <br />completed on one candidate. <br />He thanked the Parks Staff and Director Joe Stevens for their attention to the <br />landscaping on McCaslin, just north of the Louisville/Superior Interchange. <br />The 2008 Holiday Home Tour is scheduled for Saturday, December 6. <br />Mayor Sisk reported on his meetings with ConocoPhillips representatives and <br />their commitment to the City of Louisville. <br />Councilor Sackett received several compliments from residents on the McCaslin <br />landscaping and he also thanked the Parks Department. <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br />ADOPTION OF THE 2009 PROPOSED BUDGET <br />
