City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />December 16, 2008 <br />Page 8 of 14 <br />Eric Tussey, 647 W. Juniper Court, Louisville, CO stated although this is not a <br />pay-as-you-throw program, he still supports the proposal. He read a letter from a <br />Lafayette resident, who opposed Lafayette's single trash hauler proposal, but <br />who is now very pleased with their program. He thanked Council for moving <br />forward with the proposal. <br />David Greenwald, 1137 Hillside Court, Louisville, CO urged Council to adopt the <br />single trash hauler proposal. He supported Louiswille moving toward <br />sustainability. <br />Ryan Wurgler, Waste Connection, 5500 Franklin Street, Denver, CO addressed <br />the pay-of-you-throw comments and explained they rate structures. He addressed <br />the RecycleBank, a coupon program which is supported by Waste Connection <br />and part of their proposal. He felt it is a value to any trash and recycle program. <br />Jean Morgan, 1131 Spruce Street, Louisville, CO :stated she recycles, but has <br />very little refuse and has a large amount of yard wastes during the summer. She <br />asked if the tree and branch drop off could be open more than one weekend a <br />month and if she could drop off yard waste at the waste water treatment plant. <br />Gail Wetrogren, 930 McKinley Avenue, Louisville, CO voiced her support of the <br />proposal. She has alley trash collection and stated the fewer trucks in the alleys <br />the better. She asked if the rates would be adjusted annually and what would be <br />done with the recyclables until the economy changes. <br />Bruce A. Kovalski, 807 W. Oak Court, Louisville, C;O supported the freedom of <br />choice of trash haulers and urged Council to reconsider the proposal. He also <br />requested the tree and limb drop off site should bE; open more often. <br />Robin Burton, 855 W. Dillon Road #A103, Louisville, CO supported a single <br />hauler and recycling program. She felt the proposal is the right thing to do. <br />Peemin Chen, 265 S. Jefferson Avenue, LouisvillE;, CO explained she lived in <br />California where residents received large refuse containers and large recycle <br />bins. She was surprised with the small recycle bins offered by trash haulers in <br />Louisville. She voiced her support of the single trash hauler/recycle program. <br />Kristin Kusmierek, 1148 Hillside Lane, Louisville, CO stated she supports the <br />single trash hauler and recycle proposal and was willing to give up her freedom <br />of choice. <br />John Leary, 1116 LaFarge Avenue, Louisville, CC> supported the proposal, but <br />also the right of choice. He asked Council to fully evaluate the merits of the <br />program. <br />
