tion of it shall be above the l', vel of the lamp nor more than <br /> forty two inches above the ground. <br /> (c ) Motor vehicle headlights shall be so permanently arranged <br /> that no portion of the beam of reflected light , when measured <br /> seventyfive feet or more ahead of the lamps , shall rise above <br /> fortytwo inches from the level surface on which the vehicle <br /> stands, or above the top of the headlight, <br /> ( d) All vehicles loaded with materials projecting from the <br /> rear shall carry a red signal light at the extreme rear point <br /> of such projecting materials. <br /> Section 3. BRAKES. Every motor vehicle operated on the streets <br /> of the Town of Louisville shall be provided with at least two <br /> adequate brakes , each of which works independently of the other, <br /> except that motorcycles shall be provided with not less than one <br /> adequate brake. <br /> Section 4. WARNING SIGNALS. Every motor vehicle operated. on the <br /> streets of the Town of Louisville shall be provided with at least <br /> one adequate horn or bell, in working condition, for givingwarn- <br /> ing of its approach or other necessary warning, and that at' all <br /> places where necessary, sufficient warning shall be given of the <br /> approach of such vehicle by horn, bell or other adequate means , <br /> but no such signal shall be used to make any undue or unnecessary <br /> noise. <br /> • <br /> Section 5. WHISTLES AND NOISES. <br /> Siren whistles or whistles operated by condensed air, exhaust gas <br /> or steam shall not be used on any vehicle; no racing or testing <br /> of a motor in any motor vehicle is permitted; all motor vehicles <br /> are prohibited from using the motor without a muffler or with the <br /> muffler cut out open when any such vehicle is in operation. <br /> • <br /> Section 6, SMOKE AND VAPOR. <br /> No motor vehicle shall be operated in such a way as to emit un- <br /> necessary smoke or offensive vapors within the Town of Louisville. <br /> Section 7. ENGINE RUNNING WHILE UNATTENDED. <br /> That no motor vehicle, unless some competent person be therein at <br /> the time and in charge thereof, shall be left standing upon any <br /> street of the Town of Louisville with its engine or motor running. <br /> Section 8. ACCIDENTS. <br /> In case of accident to or collision with a person or property upon <br /> any street , due to the driving or operation thereon of aF?y vehicle, <br /> _ the person so driving or operating such vehicle Shall stop and give <br /> - such assistance . as he can and shall give his name and address to <br /> the person requesting same. <br /> Section 9. SPEED. - <br /> Every person operating a vehicle on the streets of the Tpwn of <br /> Louisville shall drive the same in a careful and prudent manner <br /> at a rate of speed no greater than ia reasonable and safe having <br /> regard for the width, grade , curves , corners , traffic' ,and use <br /> of the streets and .all other attendant circumstances , so as not <br /> to endanger life , limb or property of any person.
