sidewalk or street , and giving a signal or warning of the approach of <br /> such vehicle. <br /> Section 20: BACKING TO CURB. <br /> No vehicle shall remain backed up to the curb or sidewalk line except <br /> it be actually loading or unloading and in no case longer than the <br /> actual loading or unloading requires. In case of horse drawn vehicles <br /> the horses shall be turned as near as possible at right angles to the <br /> vehicles and in the direction in which traffic on that side of the <br /> street is moving. <br /> Section 21. "HITCHING ON". <br /> No person shall hitch onto or climb upon any vehicle which is in mot- <br /> ion with or without the consent of the, driver or operator of such <br /> vehicle. <br /> Section 22. TAKING HOLD OF VEHICLES. <br /> No pedestrian or rider, driver or occupant of any vehicle shall lay <br /> hold of and hold on to any part of any other vehicle while the same <br /> is is motion. <br /> II Section 23. BICYCLES. <br /> No person shall ride a bicycle on the sidewalks of the Town of Louis- <br /> ville ; no person shall ride a bicycle in the streets of the Town of <br /> Louisville without having his hands on the handle bars. And it shall <br /> be unlawful for any person riding a motor cycle , bicycle , tricycle <br /> or velocipede- to curve to and fro on and with such' vehicle, or to <br /> proceed in any street by force of momentum or "coasting" with the <br /> feet of the rider removed from the pedals , or to remove both hands <br /> from the handle bars to practice any trick or fancy riding in any <br /> street ; or to carry any person upon such above named vehicle unless <br /> the same 'is provided with two seats. <br /> Section 24. BACKING FOR POSITION. <br /> No vehicle shall be driven in a backward direction to make a turn on <br /> any street of the Town of Louisville , and no vehicle shall be driven <br /> in a backward direction farther than is absolutely necessary to avoid <br /> accident , or to put such vehicle in such position as to enable the <br /> ' driver to properly proceed on his way. <br /> Section 25. It shall be unlawful for any person to throw, place.•.••or <br /> deposit in or upon any' street any nails , tacks , glass , crockery, '-„, - <br /> scrap iron, tin, wire , bottles , thorns or clippings , or any other <br /> article or thing likely to injure the tire of any vehicle. <br /> Section 26. SIGNALS BY POLICE OFFICER.. <br /> Every person driving, operating, or propelling any vehicle , shall <br /> stop the same immediately upon reluest or upon the signal from a <br /> police office±, such signal to be made by the officer raising his <br /> hand above his head and extended latterly, or useirg a semaphore , <br /> blowing a whistle, or in some other intelligible manner. <br />
