Even though this is a storage facility, all of the storage materials will be located within a
storage structure, that will have a base floor elevation two feet above the nearest flood
elevation and flood proofed. Therefore there should not be any storage materials that will
be affected by the flood waters.
Therefore,this criterion has been met.
9 17 56.160 E. General standards.
1. Anchoring
2. Construction materials and methods
3. Utilities
4. Subdivision proposals
The proposed warehouse structure, if approved through a PUD process, would be
required to be constructed in compliance with the most current version of the IBC, as
required by the City of Louisville.
Therefore, this criterion has been met.
e 17.56.160 F. Specific standards
1 Residential construction.
2. Nonresidential construction.
a. New construction...shall have the lowest floor elevated to the level of the base
flood elevation and shall:
i. Have structural components capable of resisting hydrostatic and
hydrodynamic loads and effects of buoyancy;
ii. Be certified by a structural engineer or architect.
3. Manufactured homes.
4. Recreational vehicles
As Mr. Parker stated, he recommends that"a site development plan be developed that
provides for elevation of buildings lowest floors a minimum of two feet above existing
site grades. Site grading should provide adequate slope away from buildings and routing
of storm-water flows adequate to prevent exposure to damage from all storm-water
flows." The City of Louisville requires all buildings with structural elements be designed
and stamped by a licensed architect or structural engineer.
Therefore, this criterion has been met.
4
