Evans asked if any of the persons speaking for the application were employees or personal friends of the <br />applicant. <br /> <br />Mr. Carlson stated that they were social acquaintances. <br /> <br />Ms. Carol and Mr. Durso stated that they were personal friends with Mr. Myers. <br /> <br />Mr. Bynum asked Mr. Myers to describe his background and experience in working with restaurants. <br /> <br />Mr. Myers stated that he was associated with restaurants mostly in Vail, and was involved in some <br />catering companies in Boulder. He stated that he has a business background, however has a love of drat~ <br />beer and has been a home brewer for over ten years. He studied at Seaborn Institute of Chicago, which is <br />a brewing technology school. He wanted to take his passion for brewing beer and combine it with his joy <br />of working in the restaurant field, and hopefully it would be a successful operation. <br /> <br />Mr. Bynum asked Mr. Myers to describe the type of fare that would be served at this restaurant. <br /> <br />Mr. Myers stated that it would be mostly American-English pub food, and work toward the classic pub, <br />with the availability of beer marinades, beer soups, and root beer. He stated that this would be a <br />restaurant available to families and not just a drinking establishment. <br /> <br />Mr. Bynum asked Mr. Myers what he proposed with regard to liquor training. <br /> <br />Mr. Myers stated that he and all staff member serving alcohol would go through all local training. <br /> <br />Mr. Bynum asked Mr. Myers what emphasis would he be putting on compliance of liquor laws, such as <br />underage drinking, serving people that are intoxicated. <br /> <br />Mr. Myers stated that he would have no tolerance for violation of liquor laws. <br /> <br />Evans asked Mr. Myers to restate the length of time he had been in the trade, or industry of managing <br />restaurants, where you have knowledge of how the employees are treating the customer, and insuring that <br />they are not serving minors. <br /> <br />Mr. Myers stated that in his restaurant experience waiting tables, he would not sell to intoxicated persons <br />or minors. In recent years he is committed to not serving minors or intoxicated persons. <br /> <br />Kimmett noted that the diagram showed a pool table. He asked if patrons would be allowed to walk <br />through the area carrying their drinks. <br /> <br />Mr. Myers stated that three drink tables are to be set up in that area for those patron in the pool table <br />area. <br /> <br />Attorney Light asked if it was the intention of the current licensees to surrender their license upon <br />approval of the brewpub license. <br /> <br />Mr. Myers stated that the current licensee would surrender their Hotel & Restaurant License at closing. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />
