Chairman Jeffers asked Attorney Barnett to proceed with his case, and asked if he had any witnesses that <br />need to be sworn in. <br /> <br />Presentation of Evidence by City: <br /> <br />Attorney Barnett called Officer Bruce Moua. <br /> <br />Secretary: Raise you right hand please. Do you solemnly swear or affirm under penalty of perjury that <br />the testimony you are about to give will be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. <br /> <br />Officer Moua: Yes. <br /> <br />Attorney Barrett approached the witness to provide a copy of the police report attached to the Show <br />Cause Hearing, and asked the officer to state his full name and address, and for whom he was employed. <br /> <br />The officer stated his name is Bruce Moua, and he resides at 10719 Steel Street, Northglenn, CO 80233. <br />He stated that he is currently employed with the City of Westminster. <br /> <br />Attorney Barnett asked the witness whom he was employed with on the evening of September 3, 1999, <br />and in what capacity. <br /> <br />Officer Moua stated that he was employed by the City of Louisville as a police officer. <br /> <br />Attorney Barnett showed the witness a document and asked if it recognized it. <br /> <br />Officer Moua stated that he did. <br /> <br />Attorney Barnett asked if the document was based on an incident that occurred on the September 3, <br />1999. <br /> <br />Officer Moua stated that it was. <br /> <br />Attorney Barnett asked the witness if Mr. Jellema was contacted on a traffic stop, and when the officer <br />prepared the report. <br /> <br />Officer Moua stated he stopped Mr. Jellema on a traffic stop and prepared the report that evening. <br /> <br />Attorney Barnett asked the witness if he was on duty in the vicinity of Dillon and 96th Street, and to <br />describe to the Authority, the events that occurred thereafter. <br /> <br />Officer Moua stated he was travelling Northbound on Dillon and 96th and observed a vehicle traveling <br />much faster than the posted speed limit of 40 mph. He followed the suspect down from 96th and observed <br />him proceed through a stop sign. The officer decided to make a traffic stop. Mr. Jellema had parked at <br />L&G Liquors and went inside. The officer observed the same gentleman, who got out of the vehicle, <br />purchasing alcohol. The gentleman returned to his vehicle and headed northbound on Highway 42. When <br />the officer stopped the suspect, he asked for his driver's license, registration and insurance. He was given <br />a Utah driver's license with a date of birth, of 9/17/78.
