Louisville Local Licensing Authority <br />Meeting Date: May 8, 2000 <br /> <br />Oedipus has conducted. <br /> <br />Chairperson Myers asked if members had any questions for Mr. Scott. Being none, Attorney <br />Spielman thanked the Authority for the opportunity to appear and make a presentation on behalf of <br />the applicants White Lodging Services Corporation and RI-LOU, LLC d/b/a Residence Inn by <br />Marriott, Louisville. <br /> <br />Member Jeffers requested permission from the Authority Chairperson to ask several additional <br />questions concerning the diagram of the premises. Chairperson Myers granted the request for further <br />testimony and the hearing continued with additional questions for Ms. Ronacher, General Manager of <br />the Residence Inn by Marriott, Louisville. <br /> <br />Discussion continued relative to the inclusion of the Sports Court in the licensed premises. As <br />possible solutions, members raised the options of additional fencing, low walls and dedicated <br />pathways. <br /> <br />Sergeant Riggins commented that hotel establishments, such as that of the applicant, rarely have <br />liquor related incidents that would lead to violations. He also stated that recent discussion with the <br />Louisville Building and Safety department raised the question of whether these extra measures and <br />the associated costs would accomplish the premise containment the Authority was looking for. <br /> <br />After further discussion, it was agreed by the Authority, Mr. Spielman and Ms. Ronacher that the <br />diagram would be revised to include the grassy area from the patio around the main lobby building, <br />to and inclusive of, the Sports Court. Ms. Ronacher also agreed to post signs indicating areas where <br />alcoholic beverages may not be carded or consumed and to have hotel staff available to monitor the <br />Sports Court area during hotel hospitality events. <br /> <br />Member Turner asked Authority Attorney Kathleen Kelly to present her findings on questions raised <br />by the joint ownership of the liquor license. Attorney Kelly stated that she has discussed this matter <br />with the attorney for the applicant and with the state licensing authority, and advised the Authority of <br />the advantages to this type of management agreement. Primarily, that there would be two entities <br />involved in the management of the licensed premise and safekeeping of the liquor license. <br /> <br />Chairperson Myers asked if there was any interested party in the audience who wished to speak in <br />favor of the application.
