Planning Commission
Meeting Minutes
Hsu asked why this building was selected for the telecommunications apparatus.
Dahl responded that they surveyed about 30 other buildings and this one worked better than the
other buildings surveyed.
Hsu asked what determined the lateral dimensions of the screening and if the proposed
dimensions were the minimum necessary or were built with future additions in mind.
Laird responded that the distances off the edges of the buildings were determined by the RF
engineers, who wanted to get as close as possible to the edge. Planning staff wanted to have a
setback from the edge. So they compromised with 15' off the edge of the building. The other
requirement was that when they increased the screens, they wanted the addition to match the
rest of the building, which required a larger addition.
Williams asked if T-Mobile would be leasing the space on the roof.
Dahl responded that T-Mobile would be leasing the space.
Dahl thanked the Commission again.
Brauneis asked the Commission and staff for further comments and questions.
Ritchie stated that the building owner authorized the applicant to process a land -use application
for their property.
Brauneis closed the public hearing and asked the Commission for discussion.
Hsu stated that he thought the applicant complied with the SRU and supported approval of the
SRU proposal.
Moline agreed and added that he thought adding to existing antennae on buildings was better
than adding antennae where there were none before.
Hoefner agreed with Moline and stated that it was a de minimis change with what was already
on the roof.
Howe concurred.
Williams stated that she appreciated the improvement to cellular communications in Louisville
and was happy with the roof coverage was around 25%. She would have liked to see the
materials included in the application.
Motion made by Moline to approve Resolution 1, Series 2018 to approve a request for a Special
Review Use to allow the construction of a roof mounted CMRS facility for property at 363
Centennial Parkway with the condition that is in the staff report. Seconded by Hoefner. Roll call
vote. Motion passes unanimously.
DISCUSSION
PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS
Hsu stated that the Commission does not follow Robert's Rules of Order.
Zuccaro stated that Louisville had not adopted Robert's Rules of Order, but that everyone used
it as a general guide for hearings.
