Louisville Local Licensing Authority <br />Meeting Date: October 30, 2000 <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />opposition to the application, witness all signatures and record, by address, all responses. <br /> <br />Ms. Pietrs reviewed the results of the petition which indicated, that of the total of persons that signed, <br />96.93% were in favor of the application. Ms. Pietrs stated the percentage was quite favorable. <br /> <br />Chairperson Myers asked if members had any questions for Ms. Pietrs. Member Jeffers commented that <br />he was pleased that the survey included random portions of the City and included a mix of residential <br />and commercial areas. <br /> <br />Chairperson Myers asked if any members of the Authority had questions of the applicant. Hearing <br />none, Chairperson Myers asked if there was any interested party in the audience who wished to speak in <br />favor of the application. Hearing none, Chairperson Myers asked if there was any interested party in the <br />audience who wished to speak in opposition to the application. Heating none, Chairperson Myers asked <br />the applicant if he wished to make any closing comments. <br /> <br />Mr. Wildberger stated that Tokyo Joe's is pleased to be locating in Louisville. He then thanked the <br />Authority and Staff and requested the application for a hotel and restaurant liquor license be approved <br />based on the application materials and testimony given. <br /> <br />Chairperson Myers closed the public hearing and called for member discussion and comments. Hearing <br />none, Chairperson Myers called for a motion to grant or deny the application. <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Lipton moved that the Local Licensing Authority of the City of Louisville find that <br />the applicant is of good moral character, that the inhabitants of the neighborhood desire the license be <br />granted, that the license will meet the reasonable requirements of the neighborhood, that all City and <br />state law requirements have been met and that, based on these findings, the Local Licensing Authority <br />approve issuance of a hotel and restaurant license for Tokyo, Inc., doing business as Tokyo Joe' s, <br />conditioned upon the Licensee providing executed copies of the final lease documents showing the <br />actual commencement date and lease term, and clarification of item (6) of the application and date of <br />birth for Mr. Lawrence P. Leith. <br /> <br />Member Jeffers asked if issuance of a certificate of occupancy should be made a condition of the <br />approval. Authority Attorney Kelly stated that zoning and building compliance guidelines are already <br />covered under state statutes and that special consideration of the C.O. is not necessary. <br /> <br />Member Jeffers seconded the motion. Roll Call Vote: Myers - yes, Jeffers - yes, Evans - yes, Kimmett <br />- yes, Lipton - yes. All members were in favor, the motion carded. <br /> <br />DJ <br /> <br />Transfer Application - Romero's Liquors LLC, d/b/a Romero's Liquors - Retail Liquor <br />Store License - 1140 Pine Street, Unit gl. <br /> <br />Chairperson Myers stated that the Deputy City Clerk distributed additional packet items concerning this <br />application to the Authority. <br /> <br />9 <br /> <br /> <br />
