Louisville Local Licensing Authority <br />Meeting Date: December 18, 2000 <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />Attorney Gottesfeld asked Mr. Min how long he has be~n operating Little Tokyo restaurant and what the <br />hours of operation are. Mr. Min stated that he has been operating Little Tokyo at 332 McCaslin Blvd. <br />since March 2, 2000. He stated that he currently closes his business after lunch and that if the Authority <br />granted the beer and wine license, he would be able to stay open for dinner. <br /> <br />Attorney Gottesfeld asked Mr. Min if there was a separate bar area in the restaurant. Mr. Min stated <br />there was not a bar area in the restaurant. Attorney Gottesfeld asked Mr. Min to explain why being able <br />to serve beer and wine is important and what kind of experience Mr. Min has had is selling and serving <br />alcoholic beverages. Mr. Min stated that sushi is made from fish and that it can be "sticky" or "rough" <br />feeling in the mouth and that it is customary to accompany sushi with sake or beer. He also stated that <br />purchasing fresh fish is very expensive and that liquor sales will improve his profit margin. Mr. Min <br />continued that from 1992 to 1995 he had served alcoholic beverages in a Korean restaurant. <br /> <br />Attorney Gottesfeld asked Mr. Min how many signatures he obtained on the petition submitted to the <br />Authority with his application. Mr. Min stated that, after crossing off people that were not Louisville <br />residents, he thought there were approximately seventy signatures. <br /> <br />Attorney Gottesfeld asked Mr. Min if he would be able to stay in business if his application for a beer <br />and wine license was denied. Mr. Min stated that he has been losing about two thousand dollars a <br />month since he opened and that being able to serve beer and wine would help his profits. <br /> <br />Mr. Min thanked the Authority for listening and stated that he hoped they would grant him a beer and <br />wine license. <br /> <br />Attorney Gottesfeld asked members if they had any questions for Mr. Min. <br /> <br />Chairperson Myers asked if the $10,000 promissory note to Ki Tong Allison listed for item #31 on the <br />application had been paid. Mr. Min stated that it had been paid off in November of 2000. <br /> <br />Member Jeffers asked if Mr. Min would be the manager of the restaurant. Mr. Min responded that he <br />would be the manager. <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Lipton asked Mr. Min if he had ever experienced any problems or violations selling or <br />serving alcohol at the Korean restaurant. Mr. Min stated that he had called the police in the past when <br />patrons became disorderly. Vice Chairperson Lipton asked if Mr. Min had ever received any liquor <br />training. Mr. Min stated that several years ago he had taken a class. <br /> <br />Member Jeffers asked Attorney Gottesfeld when they expected to receive finalized lease documents. <br />Attorney Gottesfeld stated that drafts of the new agreement had been sent to all the concerned parties <br />but that he could not estimate how long the process would take. <br /> <br />Chairperson Myers asked if members had any further questions of the applicant. <br /> <br />Hearing none, Chairperson Myers asked if there was any interested party in the audience who wished to <br /> <br /> <br />
