<br />Louisville Local Licensing Authority <br />Meeting Date: August 30,2004 <br />Page 3 of 5 <br /> <br />Mr. Schonbrun stated The Lodge at Balfour is going to be an age restricted living facility <br />for seniors. There will be two dining rooms where the liquor would be sold and <br />consumed by the residents and visiting family members. <br /> <br />Questions from the Authority included whether they intended to serve liquor to anyone <br />off the street. Mr. Schonbrun answered this was not the intent. Server training was <br />addressed. Mr. Schonbrun stated he intended to hire only 21 year olds and above and <br />provide training. Liquor storage will be in a locked cabinet in the kitchen. Attorney Light <br />asked if the applicant would change the diagram to include the kitchen in the licensed <br />premises. The applicant agreed to do so. Supervision of the liquor was addressed. A <br />supervisor will be in the kitchen at all times. <br /> <br />Chairperson Koertje closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Attorney Light further explained the financial disclosure of the applicant. He felt the <br />application and later letters satisfied the requirements. <br /> <br />Wilson moved that the Local Licensing Authority of the City of Louisville find the <br />applicant is of good moral character, the inhabitants of the neighborhood desire the <br />license be granted, the license will meet the reasonable requirements of the <br />neighborhood, all City and State law requirements have been met and that, based on <br />these findings, the Local Licensing Authority approve issuance of a tavern license for <br />The Lodge at Balfour Operations, LLC, doing business as The Lodge at Balfour <br />conditioned upon the fingerprint record showing no criminal history. Mulvahill <br />seconded. Attorney Light offered a friendly amendment the licensed premises on the <br />diagram include the kitchen and the diagram identify any exterior exits in the kitchen <br />and identify the liquor storage area. Both Wilson and Mulvahill accepted the friendly <br />amendment. Roll Call Vote: Koertje-yes, Paige-yes, Mulvahill-yes, Wilson-yes and <br />Rommelfanger-yes. Motion adopted. <br /> <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Incident Report - 7/26/04 - Druids Arms <br /> <br />This incident involved an intoxicated male walking on Via Appia. He stated he had been <br />drinking at Druids Arms. He was later taken to the Alcohol Recovery Center by police <br />officers. Discussion by the Authority resulted in no action. <br /> <br />B. Incident Report - 8/4/04 - Centennial <br /> <br />There was a report of a man driving out of the parking lot of Centennial Liquors and <br />nearly hitting another vehicle. When the officers talked with the party and his wife, they <br />discovered the party had also taken a prescription drug.
