SUBJECT: COVID-19 CITY REOPENING AND RECOVERY
DATE: FEBRUARY 23, 2021 PAGE 12 OF 14
Street Faire is a City permitted event, and as such will be required to provide a COVID
plan and follow all guidelines in place for the dial status at the time of the event.
Other City Facilities:
Under Level Yellow, the City has maintained limited in -person services at facilities other
than those mentioned here. The guidance still calls for 50% capacity in offices and for
remote work strongly encouraged. (Although the City is technically exempt as critical
government services, our reopening plans have followed the indoor office space guidance
to the greatest extent possible.) Below is the open/in-person hours of service currently in
place at other City facilities:
City Hall (Planning/Building, Finance, City Clerk, City Manager's Office, Economic
Vitality, Public Works/Engineering, Human Resources, Information Technology)
o Open for in -person services by reservation on Tuesday/Thursday from
8:OOam — 12:OOpm.
Police Department, Records, and Courts
o Open for in -person services on Monday and Wednesday from 8:OOam —
12:OOpm
o Court conducted remotely on Tuesdays
o City Services building (Parks, Cemetery, Open Space, Public Works
Operations)
■ Closed to the public
Moving forward, staff is currently discussing when and how the facilities will reopen for
more in -person services. Remote and online services has been successful for most
departments and services. As we move into Level Blue, the City will consider adding
open, in -person hours, particularly for those departments with increased demand for in -
person consultation and services, such as Planning/Building.
At this time, the City is exploring various options around operations and service delivery
modifications in the office environment. Specifically, the City is exploring workplace
changes that could reflect ongoing public health and safety needs, the changing work
landscape and workforce expectations around work conditions, efforts that support
sustainability goals, and other strategies to promote retention and attraction. Examples
include:
• Revisions to the City's remote work policy to support ongoing telework for those
positions that would allow.
• Ongoing scheduling to stagger employees' in person work.
Potential for office -sharing and flex -office spaces for variable in -office and work at
home schedules.
City facility hours for in -person services — to better accommodate public needs and
support the work of staff.
CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
13
