City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />February 16, 2021 <br />Page 4 of 8 <br />The EVC recommends approval of the resolution. <br />Public Comments <br />Mark Oberholzer, Owner Tilt Pinball and current BRaD Chair, stated he supports the <br />dissolution but wants to make sure some business members are appointed to the EVC <br />and that the appointment process is formalized in this resolution. <br />Mayor Stolzmann thanked all current and previous members of the BRaD and she thinks <br />the organization of the EVC will be a good path forward. <br />Councilmember Dickinson stated the EVC has had a great deal of conversation about this <br />and the goal is to have good continued engagement with the business community. The <br />EVC will continue to discuss the details of how to add business members to the <br />committee. <br />Councilmember Leh stated the EVC process is working well and this change will be even <br />better. If for any reason it does not continue to work well we can make changes. He noted <br />anyone is welcome to attend their meetings and people are encouraged to give input. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Maloney agreed BRaD has done good work but times have changed and <br />this is a good route forward. He said dissolution of the committee does not mean we are <br />disengaging with the business community. Input from the business community is essential <br />and we need to find the proper way to add business members to the EVC. <br />MOTION: Mayor Pro Tern Maloney moved to approved the resolution; seconded by <br />Councilmember Brown. <br />Motion passed by unanimous roll call vote. <br />DISCUSSION/DIRECTION — REVITALIZATION COMMISSION'S PHASE 1 <br />WAYFINDING SIGNAGE PROGRAM <br />Director Pierce reviewed the history and goals of the Revitalization Commission's (LRC) <br />Wayfinding Program noting streetscape and connectivity for Downtown is the LRC's <br />highest priority project and the LRC has worked to develop focused areas, so that <br />investments made over time will have significant impacts to the Highway 42 Urban <br />Renewal Area. LRC included $130,000 in its 2021 budget anticipating this desired <br />wayfinding signage work <br />In order to capitalize on existing resources and see more immediate investment, staff <br />suggested the LRC focus on implementation of the City's existing Signage and <br />Wayfinding Plan last reviewed in 2017.
