Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />Jan. 20, 2021 <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />2. Ann Rick — Louisville Times issues saved by her grandfather, <br />including two from the 1930s that the Museum did not have. <br />3. Shirley Elrod — digital photos from the late 1940s showing the <br />apartment building that had been the Commercial Hotel near Pine & <br />Main. <br />4. Cyndi Dionigi-Huffman — photos and items from the Dionigi family, <br />including some showing the Dionigi house and yard on La Farge Ave. <br />5. Shelli Reading — signs and digital photos from weekly anti -racism <br />vigils held in Superior from July to November 2020. <br />6. Peter Pascoff — book, Green Light on the Tipple, which is a history <br />of the Frederick, Firestone, and Dacono area. <br />D. Advice sought on donations of other artifacts being offered: <br />None requested <br />XIII. Chairperson's Report: No report <br />XIV. Pioneer Award: <br />A. New Pioneer Award section on Museum website: The <br />Commission discussed the content on the past Pioneer Award <br />recipients on website. The Commission members who have looked at <br />it said that they like how the information and photos are presented. <br />B. Pioneer Award Selection: The Commission voted to postpone the <br />selection of recipient till the March meeting, vote 7 to 0 <br />XV. Election of officers: The officers elected for 2021 were: Paula Elrod <br />Chairperson, Leah Angstman Vice Chairperson, and Jonathan Ferris Secretary. <br />These appointments were approved, vote 7 to 0 on all appointments. <br />XVI. Items of common interest with the Historic Preservation Commission: <br />Leah gave an update on recent actions by the HPC. Leah was selected as <br />the Commission's liaison to the HPC, with Joe as an alternate. <br />XVII. Louisville History Foundation update: The Foundation decided not to <br />have its usual work retreat at the start of the year, and with some of its <br />regular annual activities on hold, the Foundation is considering other ways <br />in which to support the Museum. <br />XVIII. Commission comments & discussion items for next meeting: None <br />XIX. Close meeting & adjourn: The LHC meeting adjourned at 7:48 pm.
