Historical Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 19, 2008 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />• $1500 has been allocated for supplies. <br />• Capital Projects approved for the Museum campus: <br />• $7,000 in maintenance <br />• $26,000 for painting <br />• $100,000 for fire detection and/or protection for the Museum <br />buildings <br />Sign requests will become part of the 2010 budget <br />C. Muth noted that the Historic Preservation Tax, Ballot Issue 2A, was <br />approved by voters in November. A program is being created by the <br />Historic Preservation Commission and will require the approval of City <br />Council. <br />D. The Commission was presented with a $300 check from the proceeds <br />from the Coal Creek Crossing Race during the Fall Festival. Virginia <br />Caranci will write a thank you to the Recreation Center Staff. <br />VII. Museum Coordinator's Report <br />A. Deeds of Gifts <br />1. Bob Enrietto: T-shirt from 1978 that was made to commemorate the <br />100th anniversary of Louisville <br />2. Dorothy Ferguson: Louisville High School items, including <br />yearbooks and school newspapers; magazines; books; and Civil <br />Defense items from Louisville <br />3. Kay Kilker Uran: Two glass milk bottles from Stearns Dairy <br />4. Lora Cameron: Scans of two historic photos of Louisville showing <br />the donor's grandfather, George Longmore <br />5. Judy DiGiacamo: Slides of Louisville residents taken by Jack <br />DiGiacomo in the 1970s. <br />B. Correspondence <br />1. Denver and Boulder Museum magazines and publications <br />2. Superior Historian <br />C. Don Ross attended the dedication of the Superior Museum and Park <br />D. Visitor's Report and Tours <br />1. Visitors: October: 256, Year to Date: 1,456 <br />2. Tours <br />a. Monarch K-8, second grade <br />b. Louisville Elementary, second grade <br />c. One adult group tour <br />E. Activity Report <br />1. Museum's obituary and vital records collection now numbers about <br />1,400 and is used for research and by visitors. <br />2. The Museum Coordinator reported that she did research and wrote <br />three historic property reports for the Historic Preservation <br />Commission because of demolition permit applications on the <br />buildings, including one on the Hecla Casino building that was built <br />in 1910. <br />F.
