As a City, we have a
bond rating of which we can be proud. Our existing bonds
are being paid down rapidly and we have a healthy reserve.
Nevertheless, we will not rest on our laurels and the 2009
budget will reflect that. We continue to work diligently on
the Highway 42 redevelopment area and the City's Revi-
talization Commission meets monthly to foster this vitally
important opportunity area.
On a personal note, let me thank our daughter, Jennie,
for graduating and finding full-time employment in Wash-
ington (yes, in politics!!). Now we have our son, Brian,
embarking on his graduate degree in the Boston area. I am
confident many of you can relate, but our family has always
believed in the theory that there is no better investment
than education!!
I invite you all to attend the annual Fall Festival this
Labor Day Weekend. Come be a part of the community
events induding: the Pet Parade, the Pie Contest, the Coal
Creek Crossing running events, and of course, the Annual
Labor Day Parade.

Do you have questions about City programs and projects? If so, come to your Ward meeting or the Mayor's
Town
will be informal meetings covering a variety of topics.
