Discussion on if there is a role in the library providing public health info re: <br />COVID vaccine. Confirmed there is a link to the city's COVID-19 webpage on <br />the library homepage. Determined best to let that be the authoritative source, <br />and just link to it as needed. <br />b. Board member Skladzinski brought up if there was something to be done in <br />the library building to reach patrons who are visiting the library but not the <br />website. <br />c. Action item: Board member Dufresne will check public health organization <br />(CDC, CDPHE) websites and connect with Director Nemechek on any print <br />materials that can be posted in the library. <br />IX. Ongoing Business <br />Superior Board of Trustees update (Laura Skladzinski) <br />No details are set about the opening of the new community center at 1500 Colton rd. yet. <br />The Superior Board of Trustees did approve an in person event for the end of March. It will <br />be outdoors, masks are required, and there will be capacity limits. It is expected there will be <br />more in person events at some point this year - maybe a public opening of the community <br />center. <br />Library Foundation liaison report (Conor Syle) <br />Based on the fundraising drive at the end of last year, found the majority of funding is coming <br />from Louisville residents. The foundation is thinking on how to improve visibility in Superior. <br />The new community center might help. Also looking to add board members from Superior. <br />from 1500 colton rd might be the place to do it. Getting board members from Superior. <br />X. Directors Report (Sharon Nemechek) <br />1. The library opened the whole building as of March 9. Open fewer hours than pre-Covid. <br />Will be metering access to children's - as that tends to be where the majority of visitors go. <br />Asking people to limit their visit to 30 minutes. <br />2. Hired 9 new employees this week! But still under previous staffing levels. As staff start and <br />are trained they can offer more open hours. The library is hoping to be back to normal <br />hours in mid May. <br />3. FLC is continuing to negotiate with Prospector. FLC has been trying to negotiate the price <br />for years. Their price structure is disadvantageous to library consortiums. Director <br />
