Nemechek has spoking with library directors in Jefferson County, Douglas County, and <br />Denver among others. They are supportive of reviewing the priciting structure. Hope to <br />come to an agreement soon and restore access to Prospector. <br />4. Mobile check out is here! The app is called cloudLibrary by Bibliotheca. Can manage your <br />entire account on your mobile device. <br />5. Started offering "My first library card" for children. There is a special card, photo op, and <br />opportunity to ring a bell in celebration if the child wants to. The goal is to champion <br />literacy. <br />6. Book donation and recycling event (April 17) - Expecting a large amount of donations as <br />donations haven't been accepted for the past year. Residents of Louisville and Superior <br />can sign up for an appointment - up to 5 boxes of books. LBOT can volunteer, duties can <br />include: <br />a. Unloading boxes from trunks <br />b. Sort books - Sold, Donated, Recycled <br />c. Action Item: Director Nemechek to send sign up sheet tomorrow <br />7. Summer reading celebration - planning of having it in June outside at Steinbaugh. Details <br />TBD <br />8. Dr. Seuss book. His estate decided to stop publishing 6 of his books due to hurtful <br />stereotypes. The library has 4 of the books - all currently checked out. When the books are <br />returned, library staff will review and decide what to do with the books. Denver isn't <br />weeding them, but Broomfield is.
