Recreation Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />April 26, 2021 <br />Page 5 of 5 <br />• COVID restrictions are loosening, and the rec center is able to allow more <br />program participants. Beginning in May, private rentals of the pool area, <br />turf gym, and other spaces will be available for special events. Memory <br />Square will open on May 1. <br />• When asked about mask wearing, Kathy reported that the Louisville mask <br />ordinance is still in effect. Kathy hears from patrons who say that working <br />out with a mask is a challenge. Masks will be recommended on the deck <br />of Memory Square Park, but not required. <br />• Programs at the Senior Center are opening up. Drop -in programs have <br />started, and participation is increasing. The Bloomin' Seniors Garden Club <br />will have their annual plant sale in May. The lunch program continues to <br />run strong. May is "Older Americans Month," and there will be a special <br />concert to celebrate. The senior center will sponsor day trips and restore <br />some of the beverage service. <br />Board Updates <br />Regarding the possibility of meeting in person, Nathan said that this may not <br />happen until the fall. The Board opted to forego group tours of the recreation <br />facilities, in order to have time to meet and discuss agenda items.
