Councilman Leary

Councilman Ferrera
Cedarwood Park Improvements

Garfield and South Boulder
Road

9/~/83

Page -4-

Councilman Cussen stated that his primary
concern was with the inflated jumping pad.
There was a 13 yr. old girl who was baby
sitting a 4 yr. old that was in charge of
the operation and when the wind came up,
there was fear that the tent would collapse,
which it did and there were a few children
in it. The owner then did close it down.
This did cause Cussen great concern as it
could have been a real tragedy. He suggested
this happening be shared with the American
Legion.
could be
Asked if the motions / typed as soon as
possible - especially those from last night's
meeting.

Inquired of John Rupp what was happening at
Cedarwood Park.
Director Rupp advised that he sent a letter
on August 30, 1983 to Randy Hartman stating
that no more CO's would be issued until all
the public improvements were constructed
through Tract B. The letter he received
from Mr. Hartmen indicated that they have
scheduled the improvements on the Mayhoffer
portion this month; however they never made
any mention of Tract B, therefore, the CO's
were being withheld. These were due Sept.
1st and if he wished another extension he
would have to come back to council and state
his case.
Director Kasch stated that he and Mark Wozny
met with Gene Jicinsky who is doing the im-
provements for the project and they do have
all materials on sight for the Mayhoffer por-
tion. They also have some water problems
that staff is attempting to work with them to
get resolved. They are going to do some
other investigative engineering to see if they
can get the water off the site. They would
continue to monitor this. By Friday of next
week hopefully a temporary solution wil~ be
made until a storm drain can be installed.

Councilman Ferrera expressed his concern
at this intersection, because of the trees
in the median motorists are unable to see
the traffic on the north side. Inquired if
there was indication that a signal light would
be placed at this location. Administrator
Wurl advised at the present time the traffic
counts do not warrant a light.
