9/6/83 Page -4- Councilwoman Morris Commented that if there was a violent objec- tion against a person that the Mayor had selected, could there be discussion by Council, since it would be known as the Mayor's Task Force. This was agreeable with Mayor Meier. Councilman Cummings Commented he would like to see this as a long range project, inquired if Council could work toward that either by ordinance or a standing committee within a month. Felt that an ordinance creating such a committee would be a benefit for all future councilmembers, letting them know their views as to what is being done right or wrong whatever the case maybe; felt that this should be a long range project. Councilman Leary Did not favor an ordinance as different council- members may have different objectives and issues. No definite action to make this a long range commitment for the Mayor's Task Force nor a re- quest for an ordinance. ~ouncilman Fauson Commented ultimately the responsibility of setting policy lies with this Council, and if unfavor- able decisions are made the citizens would let councilmembers know at the upcoming muni- cipal election. BUILDING PERMIT - PHASING PLAN Councilmembers had a copy of the phasing plan. Administrator Wurl advised this had been up- dated after a review of the annexation and sub- division agreements with the various developers. Councilmembers had also been provided with the original projections stated in a memo dated March 28, 1983. The previous figures contained estim~ted building permits of what Homart would project on an annual basis. The 1984 figure for McStain is what is contained in the agree- ment.
