Felt that as a Council we did have a responsi- bility to take a position on the issue be- cause we all live in this region, partici- pate and pay our dues to DRCOG. The lo- cation of the airport will impact our City; therefore felt that the more we involve ourselves in these issues the better we serve the people we represent. Yes No Yes Yes Yes Yes No Stated she wished to address the issue of paving pine St. Last February the Heritage II Subdivision came before the City for approval. One of the major concerns Windmill pointe homeowners had with this subdivision is that Madison St. is the only paved access into the development in Heritage II. Planning Commission and City Council agreed that access was a problem and that pine st. should be an all weather access. American Builders agreed to pave the pine St. access into ~he develop- ment last March but nothing has been done since that time. She learned last Thursday night at the Louisville Fire Protection meeting that Pine St. in its current condition is not an acceptable access for fire equipment. This concerns the homeowners in the development because it was a mile longer via Delany Road from the fire house to the house that exploded on the northern edge of the develop- ment. She also learned this week that Ameri- can Builders will begin closing on houses in Heritage II by the end of this month. They would like to City to take the necessary steps required to get pine st.paved as soon as possible to facilitate fire access and ease the traffic on Madison when Heritage II opens They also wished to know the paving schedule for Delany as the paving bid was approved by Council two weeks ago.
