CHURCH OF THE JESUS CHRIST OF
THE LATTER DAY SAINTS - STREET
DISCUSSION

Aayor Meier

Councilman Cussen

7/19/83

Page -7-

ledged by them, and they have no land
within their current boundaries on which it
can engage in substantial commercial, resi-
dential and industrial development.

Mr. Charles Windorf stated he was representing
Mr. Don Shallock for the Morman Church in re-
sponse to a letter from City Engineer Blanchard
relating the the street improvements on South
Boulder Road in front of their Church. Apolo-
gized to councilmembers that the improvements
had not been completed as they agreed to this
last year. Stated that the entire project
is approximately 2 months behind schedule.
The contractor will be going into penalty
payments as of 7/25/83 and he has been ordered
through the Bonding Co. to accelerate his pro-
gram. The superintendent of the Intermountain
Construction Co. - the prime contractor -is
well aware of what needs to be done and should
have been done and has a commitment to have
it done by August 2nd. Are well aware that
they are behind and are putting as much pres-
sure as they can on the Contractor.

Commented he felt council's main concern
was with the improvements to South Boulder
and the curbing. Also was their understand-
ing that the improvements would be made in
conjunction with those made by Neodata
Mr. Windorf stated that it was the responsi-
bility of the contractor to have coordinated
the improvements. They had explained to the
contractor repeatedly the time schedules -
how Neodata had done their portion - the con-
tractor was well aware of the schedules and
failed to keep up with them. Felt that they
were doing all they could do as the local
Church representatives to put pressure on
them to get it done.

Remarked his greatest concern was that someone
was going to get killed - driving on the road
and then suddenly you drop off in a huge hole.
One of the rumors that he had heard was that
they had been invited to join Neodata in the
construction of the improvements but that was
declined and as a result their portion was
not completed. Suggested that the deep hole
be filled in with gravel until the improve-
ments are made. Felt that as of August 2,
1983 the City should call on the Surety Bond
