APPROVAL

PLATTE VALLEY INC. - APPROVAL
OF PAYMENT

PAYMENT AUTHORIZED

Councilman Ferrera

BETTY JOHNSON - WAREMBOURG
ANNEXATION PETITION

Councilman Leary
Growth Rate

7/19/83

Page -9-

Councilwoman Morris moved, Councilman Cussen
seconded that payment in the amount of
$9,651.20 be authorized to J.C.G. Corp..
for the South Park Project Bike Path.
Question called for. All in favor. Motion
carried unanimously.

Councilmembers had a copy of the request and
recommendation from Rocky Mountain Consultants
for partial payment.

Councilwoman Morris moved ,Councilman Cussen seconded
that payment be authorized to Platte Valley
Inc. in the amount of $13,868.16 for fill
material at the wastewater plant. Question
called for. All in favor. Motion carried
unanimously.

Arrived at the meeting at 8:13 P.M.

Betty Johnson, 270 Hoover Ave. representing
the people who signed the Referendum Petitions
which she submitted to the City Clerk last
week, stated there were 195 names submitted
and the hold-up right now is checking authori-
zation of those names. She personally checked
them from a computer print-out that she received
from Boulder County Elections; therefore knew
that all the names are valid and was overwhelmed
with the response that she received - had
people call her expressing their desire to
sign the petition. Filled one entire page
with people coming to her house to sign the
petition. Was her understanding that Council-
members would either consider it this evening
or wait until next session.

Commented - in the papers there seems to be
a considerable discussion about the real
message behind this and inquired was he to
understand that it was being presented more
as a statement on growth rate than a parti-
cular problem with Medema or any personalities?
Mrs. Johnson replied that she pointed out the
growth rate since March when she started with
this - that she had nothing against Mr. Warem-
bourg nor Medema, it was simply to make a state-
ment that at our present growth rate and es-
pecially since the new proposal 450 homes
for this year and next year would be a 31.5%
increase of our population.
