Ron Weber, 1445 Truman Court

Don Gurey, Neodata Services
1255 Portland Place, Boulder

1/18/83

Page -15-

a family tree donation day is planned; would
donate money for a tree that would go in
the park with their family name. All residents
are enthused and are willing to participate
as much as necessary to get the park started.
The residents in the area are really feeling
a part of Louisville; felt that people in
the neighborhood would be guardians not only
over the park, but neighborhood as well.
This community effort has prompted acquain-
tances throughout the area. They were ask-
ing City Council to prioritize what is going
to be done so that they can have the safety
features in the park; also would like to
obtain p1aygrowld equipment and hopefully
have this accomplished by April, weather
permitting. Primarily would like to have
the rough grading done and fencing relative
to safety features. This would enable the
children to have a place to play when the
adults are doing the work, such as laying
sod, etc. Mrs. Forest provided council with
a picture of play equipment they would like
installed in the proposed park.

Stated the idea of the park and the way it
is being propos,ed is a bold idea, which came
to him while riding behind a car that stated
Louisville is Bolder. Commented there was
a tremdous amount of momentum among the
residents of the area. Everyone in the area
is willing to participate and will save
the City money. It was his feeling the
resident participation would be a savings
of $20,000 in labor intensity. It was his
feeling such an opportunity was only presented
to council once in ten years, and the savings
realized on the project can be used to fund
something else. Felt that if the Council
can make some commitment to get the proposed
park constructed, then he felt there would
be great publicity for the city and the
people throughout the community may possibly
follow the example and participate in a
project they envision.

Commented on some interest the Neodata people
expressed in the proposed Hil1sborough West
Park. Remarked the residents showed a
tremendous amount of spirit; believed these
people were dedicated to the community and
they would like to be a part of it. They
